Darla Marie Gaugh, 59, of Pinson passed away Friday, Jan. 29, 2021 at her office at Jackson General Hospital.
The family received friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Monday evening. 
The family requested that facial coverings were worn and mindfulness of social distancing was practiced. There was a private family service Tuesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with Glenn Harris officiating.  Burial was at New Friendship Cemetery.
She was born in Bellflower, Calif., and grew up in the Five Points Community near Pinson, the daughter of Doris Bain McKinney and the late James F. Gaugh and her late step-father Owen McKinney.  She graduated from South Side High School in 1979. 
She worked a few years for Mid-West Milk Company in Jackson and Whirlpool in Nashville and had worked the past 20 years in I.T. Support at Jackson General Hospital.  She had also worked part-time at HallMark at Old Hickory Mall.  She enjoyed traveling and crocheting.  She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. 
She is survived by her mother, Doris Bain McKinney of Five Points; five brothers, Garey (Debbie) Gaugh of Beech Bluff, Thomas (Teresa) Gaugh of Pinson, Lee (Diane) Gaugh of Jackson, Neil (Lori) Gaugh of Henderson and Curt (Paula) McKinney of Pinson; nine nieces and nephews; and 16 great-nieces and nephews whom she considered her own “kids.”
She was preceded in death by her father, James Fredrick Gaugh, and step-father, Owen Edward McKinney.
