DENNIS GATEWOOD Obituary – JUNE 30, 1951 – NOV. 16, 2021

Dennis Howard Gatewood, 70, of Henderson passed away Nov. 16, 2021 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were 10 a.m. Friday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Bro. Glenn Harris officiating. Burial followed at Wesley Chapel Church Cemetery at Palmersville at 2 p.m. on Friday. The family received friends at Crook Avenue from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday.
He was born June 30, 1951 in Martin, the son of the late Roosevelt ‘Buck’ Gatewood and Ollie B. Gatewood. He grew up in West Chicago, Ill. He lived in Palmersville for about 14 years before moving to Henderson in the 1990s.
He was loved by everyone who met him. He loved working at Easter Seals as a sorter.
He is survived by a sister, Arlene Hill of Henderson, and one brother, Kenneth (Renee) Gatewood of Mokena, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Ronald Gatewood, Mitchell Gatewood and Curtis Gatewood.
