DONNIE HANNA Obituary – Jan. 18, 1944 – Feb. 15, 2021

Donnie Edward Hanna, 77, of Henderson passed away Feb. 15, 2021 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Wednesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with David Weatherford and Leland Alexander officiating. Burial followed in Milledgeville Cemetery. The family received friends at Crook Avenue from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday.
He was born Jan. 18, 1944 in Milledgeville, the son of the late Jessie Dee and Lucille Benson Hanna. He grew up and attended school in Milledgeville.  He joined the Army and served in Alaska. 
He worked for Century Electric in Lexington and Olean Tile in Jackson and was a supervisor at Neo Manufacturing in Henderson when he retired. He married Brenda Thompson on Dec. 23, 2005.
His passion was the river, and he enjoyed fishing and spending time at his cabin. He also enjoyed yard work, his rose bushes and hosting fish fries for family and friends.    
He attended the House of Mercy at Morris Chapel.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda K. Thompson Hanna of Henderson; a daughter, Connie (David) Weatherford of Milledgeville; two grandchildren, Courtney (Scott) Myracle and Eric Weatherford; two brothers, James Edward Hanna of Savannah and Dana Keith Hanna of Milledgeville; and four sisters, Rebecca Morris of Henderson, Nettie Sue Sowell of Adamsville, Patsy Keen of Enville and Juliette Stanford of Adamsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Junior Dee Hanna and Ronnie Edward Hanna.
