DOT WILLIAMS Obituary – Aug. 20, 1934 – March 5, 2020

Dorothy Sue Snider Williams, 85, of Henderson passed away March 5, 2020 at Southern Oaks Assisted Living (Her Home Sweet Home).
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Roy Sharp and Billy Smith officiating.
Burial followed in Chester County Memory Gardens.
She was born Aug. 20, 1934 in Memphis and reared in Jackson, daughter of the late Henry David and Mary Jane Bayliss Snider. She attended schools in Jackson and married Robert Horace ‘Bob’ Williams in 1953.
They made their home in Memphis. She worked at the University of Tennessee Cancer Clinic and later at Goldsmith’s Department Store in Memphis.
After they retired they moved to North Jackson in 1997.    
They were very involved in church work at the North Jackson Church of Christ, and she had made several mission trips to Russia. She most recently was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ.
They moved to Chester County in 2012 to make their home near her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Richard England. Meg Sharp had been a special caregiver to her until she moved to Southern Oaks where the staff became her beloved extended family. 
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Richard) England of Medon and Judy (Jim) Byrd of Huntsville, Ala.; seven grandchildren, Richard (Meredith) England III, Amy (Luke) VanBuskirk, Micah (Tori) England, Katie (Greg) England Maxwell, Michael (Breanna) Byrd, Lauren Byrd and Danielle Byrd; eight great-grandchildren, Eli and Ella England, Owen, Gracie, Ellie, Matthew and Asa VanBuskirk and Elizabeth Dorothy Byrd; and two sisters, Becky Jones of Jackson and Joyce Parks of Columbia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob Williams, April 27, 2013; son, Larry David Williams (infant 1954); one great-grandson, Aaron VanBuskirk; sister, Fay Thurman; and brother, Jimmy Snider.
