Freed-Hardeman University is committed to recognizing and rewarding academic achievement through an extensive Merit Scholarship Program. Ranging from $3,000 to $11,000 annually, these scholarships provide students with valuable financial assistance to make their college dreams a reality. High school GPA, national test scores, submission date of application and supporting data are factors in determining the dollar amount of individual awards. Additionally, applicants with a national ACT composite score of 30 or 1360 SAT score on the reading/writing and math portions and a minimum high school GPA of 3.00 are automatically eligible for a $17,500 Trustees’ Scholarship.
To be automatically considered for these scholarships, applicants must meet specific criteria, including a minimum national ACT composite score of 19 (or 990 SAT: reading/writing and math) and a high school GPA of at least 3.00. Prospective students must submit a completed application for admission, a three-year high school transcript and their highest score on the composite national ACT, SAT or CLT test score. FHU recognizes the importance of early application and grants preference to those who submit the required forms as early as August or September of their senior year of high school.
President David R. Shannon underscored FHU’s commitment to nurturing and supporting academic excellence. “The Merit Scholarship Program is a testament to our belief in the transformative power of education. We invite exceptional students to apply early and become part of our academic community,” he said.
Students must maintain specific cumulative GPA requirements during their academic journey at FHU to continue receiving their Merit Scholarship.
