Inez Weatherington Cash, 100, of Enville, the widow of Carroll Cash, passed away Friday afternoon at her home at Enville.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 6, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with John Baxter and Eddie Walker officiating. Burial followed at Woodlawn Cemetery at Enville. The family received friends at the funeral home beginning at 11:30 a.m. Monday.
She was born and reared in Chester County, the daughter of the late Doss B. and Zula Johnson Weatherington. She attended Chester County schools and married Carroll Lee Cash in 1938. They made their home in the Enville Community. She was employed by Salant and Salant in Henderson for 39 years until the plant closed in 1981. She worked a year at Leapwood Manufacturing, retiring in 1982. Mr. Cash preceded her in death in 1996.
She continued to make her home at Enville. She was very active in the Chester County Senior Citizens and volunteered at the Enville Thrift Store. She was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ.
She mowed her yard up to the age of 98, only stopping because she broke her shoulder. She was a hard worker, never stopping a project until it was complete. She enjoyed helping D.B. in all areas of outdoor work. She was always ready to go. When she got up in the morning, she dressed for a trip!
She is survived by a brother, D. B. (Patsy) Weatherington of Enville; numerous nieces and nephews; and longtime friend Eddie Walker.
