JANET DODGE Obituary – JUNE 12, 1959 – OCT. 24, 2021

Janet Denise Dodge, 62, of Finger passed away Oct. 24, 2021 at her home in Finger.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with Chris Kitchen officiating. Burial will follow in Old Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue Chapel from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27. Funeral services will also be livestreamed on the tribute page at shackelfordfuneraldirectors.com.
She was born June 12, 1959 in Jackson, the daughter of the late Jody Franklin and Clara Belle Anderson Kelley. She grew up in Henderson and was a 1978 graduate of Chester County High School.
During her working career, she was employed by Tom Lawler’s Office Outfitters, Maytag Corporation and Southern Oaks Assisted Living.
She married Alan Dodge on Sept. 25, 1998, and they made their home in Finger. She was previously married to Randy Sells, and they had two sons, Joe and Brandon.
She enjoyed gardening, yard work, hiking, cooking, traveling and listening to music. She was very outgoing, fun-loving and enjoyed talking to people. She loved her family, and they loved her, and she will be dearly missed by them.
She is survived by her husband, Alan of Finger; two sons, Joe (fiancée Briley Miller) Sells and Brandon (companion Mary Danley) Sells; a granddaughter, Sarah Michelle Rhinehart; two sisters, Carolyn Young of Lexington and Barbara Bland of Jackson; and one brother, Michael (Sylvia) Kelley of Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Billy Joe Kelley; and two brothers-in-law, Billy Young and Chuck Bland.
