JANICE ACRED Obituary – Nov. 19, 1949 – Feb. 24, 2021

Janice Kay Morgan Acred, 71, of Beech Bluff passed away Feb. 24, 2021 at Vanderbilt University Hospital. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at New Friendship Baptist Church with Bro. Glenn Harris officiating. Burial followed in New Friendship Cemetery. The family received friends at New Friendship Baptist Church from 5-8 p.m. on Friday and from 8-11 a.m. service time Saturday at the church.
She was born Nov. 19, 1949 in Decatur County, the daughter of the late Kyle D. and Lois Irene Harrington Morgan. She grew up in Decatur County and graduated from Riverside High School. She married William Acred on Nov. 29, 1972. 
She enjoyed jewelry, crafting, flower gardening and photography.    
She was a devoted Christian woman and a member of the New Friendship Baptist Church. She loved being a wife, mother and grandmother and spending time with her family. She was the heart of her family and the best mom ever.
She was a godly woman and an incredibly strong woman. She left a legacy to her family of God’s amazing love and grace and was an example to all that knew her.
She is survived by her husband, William Morris Acred of Beech Bluff; three sons, Billy (Jennifer) Sisk of Lexington, Doug (Jessica) Acred of Lexington and Ricky (Bridget) Acred of Acworth, Ga.; a daughter, Rhonda (Brooklyn) Sisk of Henderson; one stepson, Michael Acred of Parsons; a stepdaughter, Patricia Ann (Shawn) Daniel of Parsons; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren with one on the way; one great-great-grandchild on the way; four brothers, Thomas Morgan of Lexington, Franklin “Jody” Morgan of Jackson, Ronald Morgan of Jackson and Daniel Morgan of Champaign, Ill.; two sisters, Lucille Jones and Joan Nelson both of Scotts Hill; and many extended family members who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a great-grandchild, Ty Paton; and two brothers, Vance Morgan and Donald Morgan.
