Jennie Pauline Courtney, 90, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Jan. 25, 2022, in Clinton, La.
The family requested that visiting hours were observed on Saturday, Jan. 29, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. with services immediately following at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway. Interment took place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dale Courtney, Josh Courtney, Brian Hanson, Cade Cassels, Chris Day and Michael Day. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made at www.stjude.org/donate. 
She was born on May 4, 1931, in Finger. She went to Pearl River Jr. College, where she met the love of her life, Kline Courtney. She and Kline moved to Central, married 63 years, raising three children.
She was a loving wife, devoted daughter, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was a lifelong caregiver, first raising her three children and then caring for all of those around her. She worked for EBRP schools, driving a school bus, owned her own hair salon and was a certified tax preparer.
She deeply loved her family and friends; a warm heart and support was never far with her. She enjoyed her grandchildren, watching sports, fishing and traveling in the motorhome.
She is survived by one daughter, Minta Courtney (Rodney Booker, Sr.) Booker; two Sons, Donnie Kline Courtney and Rubin Dale (Katie) Courtney;  grandchildren, Tammy Ballard, April (Brian) Ballard Hanson, Josh (Whitney) Courtney, Kelsey Courtney, Brittany (Jeffery) Frost; great-grandchildren, Cade (Danae) Cassels, Courtney Ballard, Greyson Hanson, Kristin Booker and Katlynn Nolan, George Evans Courtney, Benjamin Courtney, John Kline Courtney, Thomas Courtney, Branden Kimery, Kaylea Kimery, Kinsley Frost and Wyatt Frost, Mailey Jade Matthews; her brother, Billy (Linda); and her sister, Joyce (Bill) Leath Kammer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Minta Pauline and John Leath; her husband, Kline Courtney; siblings, Charlie Leath, Mary Leath Braly, Johnnie Leath Longmire, Roy Leath, Richard Leath and Virginia Ann Day; and grandson, Rodney Booker, Jr.
