Jimmy Franklin Pickett, 70, of Henderson passed away early Friday morning at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services were 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Shackelford Funeral Directors Crook Avenue Chapel with burial in the Cabo Cemetery in Enville. The family received friends from noon-2:30 p.m. on Sunday at Crook Avenue.
He was born and reared in the Finger Community of Chester County, son of the late Warren Grover Pickett and Emma Jean Robinson Pickett. He went to school in Chester County.
In 1968 he joined the United States Navy and served on the USS Hancock CVA-19. He returned home in 1970, when he began driving semi-trucks. He drove long hauls across the United States for many years. He loved boating, and he was an avid Tennessee Vols fan as well as an Atlanta Braves fan.
He is survived by his brother, Jerry (Eileen) Pickett of Channelview, Texas; two sisters, Nancy Lee of Morristown and Annette Berryhill of Henderson; a very close first cousin and caregiver, Carolyn Mayfield of Henderson; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death a brother, Ronnie Pickett in 1968, and two sisters, Margaret Ann Thomas in 2010 and Sharon Pickett in 2007.
