KENNETH HOOPER Obituary – March 5, 1946 – Feb. 28, 2020

Kenneth Wayne Hooper, 73, of Chester County passed away Feb. 28, 2020 at the Adamsville Health & Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday at Middlefork Road Baptist Church with Scott Dunaway and Harry Nolen officiating. Burial followed at Middlefork Road Cemetery. The family received friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday and beginning at noon Wednesday at the church.
He was born March 5, 1946 in Jackson, the son of the late William Wayne and Edith Rush Masters Hooper. He grew up in Chester County and was a 1964 graduate of Chester County High School. He attended Draughon’s Business College.
He married Peggy Jean Dodd on Nov. 28, 1968. They made their home in Jackson for 16 years before moving to Chester County in 1984. He sold insurance for most of his career with Life Investors. He loved to bowl and was big UT Vols fan. Professionally, he was a New York Yankees fan and a Dallas Cowboys fan.
He was a member of the Middlefork Road Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and had served on several committees. He was well loved. He especially loved making memories with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Jean Dodd Hooper of Chester County; three sons, Kevin Hooper and Tony Hooper, both of Chester County, and Nathan (Heather) Hooper of Crossville; five grandchildren, Riley Hooper, Cody Hooper, Ty Hooper, Karisa Hooper and Lila Hooper; and a brother-in-law, Keith Dodd.
