LARCIE KIRK Obituary – Jan. 11, 1933 – May 19, 2020

Larcie Lee Kirk, 87, of Henderson passed away May 19, 2020 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Jeff Young, Bo Callahan and Wayne Scott officiating. Burial followed in Henderson City Cemetery. The family received friends at East Main Chapel from 5-9 p.m. on Friday.
She was born Jan. 11, 1933 in McNairy County, the daughter of the late Arvel ‘Bill’ and Gladys Bell Lee Stewart. She grew up in the Leapwood community in McNairy County and also attended Chester County High School.
She married W.L. Kirk on April 11, 1959. They made their home in Henderson. She worked as a seamstress at Chester County Manufacturing, Salant & Salant and also Garan in Adamsville. In addition, she also kept children in her home for about 30 years. She was a volunteer foster grandparent through SWHRA for West Chester for 18 years. She was a member and very active in The Springs Church in Bethel Springs for 42 years, serving in the choir and as nursery roll teacher, ladies leader and also drove the church van.
She was a collector of collections and had a salt and pepper shakers collection of about a thousand sets. She loved to travel and her favorite destination was the Smoky Mountains. She loved gospel music and especially Elvis Presley’s gospel.
She is survived by her husband, W.L. Kirk of Henderson; two sons, James (Pam) Tedford of Finger and Lenzie (Denise) Kirk of Jacks Creek; three daughters, Judy (Daryl) Stavely of Henderson, Lisa (Allen) Bradley of Selmer and Vanessa (Lonzo) Taylor of Finger; 17 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Tishie Stewart.
