Martha Jo Willis departed this life on Dec. 17, 2021, in Jackson. A Memorial Service was held at Middlefork Road Baptist Church on Dec. 28, 2021. Donations may be given in her memory to the Chester County Library.
She was born in Chester County on June 13, 1943, to Mr. John Edgar and Ruby Rouse.
She was a woman who made many friends over her long life. “Mama Jo” enjoyed going to the library and reading and a good cup of coffee. She also enjoyed puzzle books, visiting with family and friends and worshipping at church. She was a member of Middlefork Baptist Church and made lots of friends whom she loved and cared about very much. She was a devout Christian woman with a faith and trust in the Lord like no other and always made sure to tell others about Jesus. She lived her life for Him until she drew her last breath.
She is survived by five children, Delores (David) Jones, John Paul Willis, Kelly Jo (Randle [Ginny, Josh]) Robbins, Phil (Stephanie) Willis and Alan (Heather) Willis; a sister, Wyneth Watkins; one brother, Clyde Rouse; grandchildren, Brandi, Tyler, Phillip, Christopher, Zach, Jake, Ella, Anna, Sam and Owen; one great-grandchild, Dawn; special friends, Martha and Debbie Mainord; her Heritage Tower friends where she lived; and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Phillip Henry Willis in 1983; and a sister, Lois Cowan.
