Mary Lou Stockton Obituary – Sept. 20, 1936 – May 4, 2022

Mary Lou Freeman Stockton, 85, passed away peacefully May 4, 2022.
Funeral services were held from noon-1 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Memorial Park Funeral Home, Memphis.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
She was born Sept. 20, 1936 in Henderson to Oscar and Allene Freeman.
She graduated from Chester County High School in 1955. She married her longtime friend and love, Franklin D. Stockton, in April of 1958 who preceded her in death in 2014.
Her only daughter Ginny opened a dance studio where she gained many more children that she was happy to call her own. These children referred to her as “Nannie” just like her own grandchildren. She loved watching her children dance over the years. She retired from the Shelby County Health Department and also worked for BellSouth.
She loved her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Ginny (Mike) Mount; two grandsons, Robert (Milly) Mount and David Mount; two great-grandchildren, Britton and Parker Mount; one sister, Nadine (Jerry) Carroll; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her brother Fred (Judy) Freeman.
