Mary Dean McClendon Weaver, 87, of Pinson went to be with her Lord on Sept. 4, 2021. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at Shackelford Funeral Directors Crook Avenue Chapel with Jimmy Dyer officiating.  Burial will follow in Bear Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Crook from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9.
She was born in Madison County, the Parkburg Community, the daughter of the late Dee Linnie and Opal Birdie Webb McClendon. She went to school at Malesus.
She married W.C. ‘Duck’ Weaver in 1950, and they made their home at Pinson. She worked as a tile grader at American Olean Tile for 34 years. She later worked as a very efficient cashier at South Walmart. She worked with Madison County election commission on election days and was a Pink Lady at Jackson General Hospital.
She loved to cook and serve those around her. Her specialties were banana pudding and “Nanny spaghetti.” She enjoyed working in the garden.
She was a former member of the Bear Creek Methodist Church and currently a member of Pinson Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School.  Mr. Weaver preceded her in death in 1993.
She loved her family, friends in the community and her church family.
She is survived by her son, Jerry (Susan) Weaver of Collierville; daughter, Susie (Freddy) Essary of Savannah; five grandchildren, Christy (Chad) Kelsey, Elizabeth (David) Allen, John (Deanna) Weaver, Mary (William) Churchwell, and Leah (Eric) Bell; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and three brothers, Elmo McClendon, Billy McClendon and Bobby McClendon.
