Mr. James Chandler Obituary – June 30, 1944 – June 21, 2020

Mr. James “Jim” C. Chandler, 75, passed away Sunday in Gatlinburg. 
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Thursday, June 25, in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment followed in Center Hill Cemetery.
He was born June 30, 1944 in McKenzie to the late Roy Clarence and Victoria Petty Chandler.
He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the U. S. Army, a Fire Safety Specialist for the State of Tennessee and a member of Gatlinburg Church of Christ. He was also former Director of Physical Plant at Freed-Hardeman University. He was a loving father and grandfather and served with his wife as surrogate parents to several of Bryan’s close friends at FHU. He was always joking with people and telling fun stories. He loved living in the Smokey Mountains too close to the bears and taking care of Marilyn’s roses. He loved Christmas and all of his Santa Claus’.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mrs. Marilyn Petty Chandler; his son, Bryan (Eva) Chandler; his daughter, Tammy Reed; two grandchildren, Jesse (Kelsea) Reed and Bella (Scott) Reed Noble; one great-grandchild, River Violet Reed; and his sister-in-law, Jean (Arturo) Robledo.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, John F. and Roger Chandler, and his sister, Roye Sue Chandler.
