Before the long weekend, Chester County High School had an activity-filled week with district tournaments and holiday celebrations. On Tuesday and Thursday, Chester County hosted the first rounds of the district tournaments, even though both teams had first-round byes because of their spectacular performance in the regular season. These games caused Lexington and McNairy to move on for the girls’ bracket and Northside and Lexington to edge past for the boys’ side of the tournament. On Friday, the Eaglettes faced off against the Lexington Tigers for the semi-final matchup and came out with an easy victory. The following night, the Eagles defeated Northside in a fiery, evenly-matched game. These games sent both teams to the championship games. The Eaglettes unfortunately fell to the South Side Hawks in the championship game, marking only their fourth loss of the entire season. All five seniors were a part of the Senior Academic Team. Jariyah Williamson was named the District Most Valuable Player, while Brooke Ketchum, Aly Campbell, and Daisy McManus were on the All-District Team. Jariyah Williamson, JuJu Prather, and Daisy McManus were awarded All-Tournament medals. They will begin the regional tournament later this week, and the Eagles will play for the championship on Tuesday.
On the club side of things at Chester County High School, Mu Alpha Theta sold love song shoutouts to celebrate Valentine’s Day! These songs entertained the students during lunch, leaving many waiting to hear what song would play next. Each shoutout was $1.
Parent-teacher conferences took place on Friday, allowing parents to check in on their students’ academic standing. We are very grateful to our teachers for constantly eagerly pushing for our students’ success!
