After going against one of the toughest teams in West Tennessee, Hardin County (7-0), the Chester County Eagles have fallen to 1-6. It seems, though, that the next three games should all result in wins and take the Eagles to the playoffs. We play Freedom Prep of Memphis this Thursday to see if our boys can turn this season around.
For a look at our other sports, the girls’ soccer team locked in the first seed in the district tournament. After defeating McNairy 3-2 in penalty kicks the week before, they closed out the regular season with wins over Southside, ending 12-3, and Hardin County, finishing 2-0 at halftime due to a thunder delay. The Soccer team will play next Tuesday in the semi-finals and then move to the championship on Thursday.
After finishing up their regular season with a win against Northside last week, the volleyball team takes on McNairy, whom they beat in three sets earlier this season, tomorrow for their first game of the district tournament.
Aside from sports, our seniors at Chester County High School completed the annual tradition of the “Senior Paint Fight” before the game on Friday. Students dressed in all white and came prepared with loads of washable paint to throw at each other. The Class of 2024 had a great time with this activity and is very excited about future events.
To close out the week, our seniors wrapped up the first Project Graduation event of many more to come. Over 120 Moe’s meal kits were given out on Thursday, and now it is time to move on to the following fundraisers. Be on the lookout to support the Senior Class and Project Graduation. Have a great week!
