Over the past few weeks, Chester County High School has entered a transitioning phase. Although fall is just beginning, we see the arrival of our winter sports on the horizon.
Over fall break, one of our last sports teams still alive, the girls’ soccer team, competed in the district championship but fell just short. After that, they played in the regional semifinals and lost to Fairview with a score of 6-2. As our football team entered the week, they were prepared to take on Lexington in their last home game and senior night. On Friday, the school gathered in the gym for the pep rally of a lifetime. This included a watermelon-eating competition, where our quarterback, Evan Schippers, took home the win. Also, many students and teachers competed in inflatable hamster ball battles in front of the whole school. After that, Chester the Eagle fought the Lexington Tiger and emerged victorious. Unfortunately, the Eagles did not match that performance in the game and fell short, scoring 14 points as opposed to the Tigers 17. Next week, the football team will play Northside for their last game of the season.
Looking past this, our basketball season is coming up, with Meet the Eagles on November 7. We had two great seasons last year from these teams and are excited to see if we can do even better!
In other news, Project Graduation is in full swing for the senior class, and there will be a Besso’s Celebrity Barista Night on Monday, Nov. 13. All proceeds will go toward Project Graduation. Come out to Besso’s to support this cause!
