After many tiresome weeks at Chester County High School, last week was somewhat relaxed. The three main sporting events in the past week included district matchups against South Side, McNairy County, and Hardin County. Unfortunately, this week was rough for the teams, where they split each game. First, the Eaglettes beat the South Side Lady Hawks, putting themselves in an excellent position for the district tournament seeding. Unfortunately, the Eagles fell later that night. On that Friday, the Eaglettes ended their extensive win streak by losing to McNairy, who had devised a specific plan to target them. The boys’ team, however, edged by with a win that night. The next day, the Eaglettes dominated the Hardin County Lady Tigers while the Eagles lost a heartbreaker in the game’s final seconds. By the end of the week, the Eaglettes stood at 7-1 in the district while the Eagles were 6-2.
On a different note, Chester County High School celebrated with five musicians as they participated in the Honor Band Festival at the University of Tennessee at Martin. Benjamin Elder, Caleb Emerson, Zoren Simmons, Jason Hunt, and John Frix were all involved in this festival, and we are incredibly proud of them!
Additionally, this week is also National School Counseling Week! We are incredibly thankful for our School Counselors, Mrs. Matheney and Mr. Hood, who are new to their positions this year!
It has been a great week, and we look forward to an even more exciting one with Senior Night and other events on the horizon!
