It has been another great week at Chester County High School, filled with reading, learning, and some more basketball. The annual March Madness Book Bracket is picking up as we enter March. Students and teachers alike are encouraged to recommend their favorite books to be included in this year’s tournament. Then, each book will go through a bracket, just like real March Madness, to find out which book is the “best.”
Also, on the topic of reading, Project LIT’s book this month is The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. Each month, the club will pick a book to read and discuss once the month is finished. This is a great way to introduce many students to books they would never have read otherwise and encourage reading to the entire school.
As we enter another week of put-out games for our basketball teams, where every game could be the last for this great group of seniors, the determination of these teams is becoming very evident. They will not go down without a fight, which was proven Monday night against Sycamore for the girls’ team. Competing against a D1 player with other talented players surrounding her was tough, but the girls continued with their fantastic defense and deadly offense. They eventually pulled away in the fourth quarter to win with a score of 39-22. This means the Eaglettes will play Wednesday for the Regional Championship and Saturday for the Sub-state. The Eagles play tonight to hopefully mimic the girls and also their great season from last year.
Our teacher of the month is Amanda Coats. She teaches medical classes at the high school and is extensively involved with the HOSA club, one of the most active at our school. We are very thankful for all that she does!
