Basketball season has finally begun, and our boys’ and girls’ teams are off to great starts. In their season opener Tuesday against Trinity Christian Academy, the Eaglettes were victorious with a score of 48-39. The Eagles played their season opener Saturday at Huntingdon High School, where they won 53-46. On the other hand, the girls’ team went home with a tough loss. This Tuesday, they will face Scotts’ Hill at home and attempt to send the Lions home with two losses. Both teams have shown that this season will be one to watch, and hopefully, we will see great results as the season progresses and later on in their respective tournaments.
Chester County Beta Club students returned home on Saturday from the National State Beta Convention. Many students came home with awards from competitions they participated in. These students include Gabriel Singleton (Poetry), Cecily Davis (Digitally Enhanced Photography), Grace Ingram (Digital Portfolio), Taylor McCarver, Jagger Young, Daisy McManus (Book Battle), Haydn Haltom (Black and White Photography) and Stephanie Guiterrez (Spanish). All of these students are eligible to compete in Nationals. Also, our State Vice-President Candidate, Jaylen Edgeston, ran a great campaign but came up just short in his election. Cadence Weaver received a golden ticket, allowing her to perform at Beta Nationals in Savannah, Georgia, this coming summer.
As Thanksgiving approaches, we are very thankful for all we have and everything that this school system has provided us with. We are so grateful for all the teachers, administrators, and staff, and I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving Break!
