William “Randy” Thompson – Sept. 2, 1958 – Dec. 28, 2023

Randy Thompson, 65, passed away at his home in Finger on Dec. 28, 2023, after a long battle with cancer.
There will be a memorial service followed by a life celebration for friends and family at Sagamore Lodge, 20 Cabin Ln., Chickasaw State Park, from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024.
He was born to parents Henry Earl Thompson and Barbara Vaughn Thompson on Sept. 2, 1958. Randy graduated in 1976 from Raleigh Egypt High School in Memphis. He and his wife, Patricia Thompson, have been together since 1989. He worked in commercial construction for many years.
He was fondly known to many friends and family as “Handy Randy.” He always enjoyed boating and fishing, watched every NASCAR race, cooking for his family and friends, and spending time with his granddaughters. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Thompson; daughters, Hannah (Connor) Sokoloski, Haley (Micheal) Panthofer and Amber (Austin Banks) Thompson; his son, Brandon Thompson; step-son, Daniel (Ilana) Sellari; granddaughters, Carly Sokoloski, Sawyer Cooper, Olivia Sellari and Avery Sellari; sister, Lisa Meeson; brother, Micheal Thompson; and many friends and family.
He was preceded in death by parents, Henry Earl Thompson and Barbara Vaughn Thompson of Jackson.

GAYLE PUGH – Dec. 15, 1947 – Dec. 26, 2023

Gayle Douglas Pugh, 76, of Henderson passed away Dec. 26, 2023, at his home. Graveside services were 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023, at Milledgeville Cemetery with Glenn Harris officiating.
He was born in Milledgeville, Dec. 15, 1947, son of the late R.C. and Carrie Nell Carter Pugh. He was a graduate of Chester County High School.
He worked at Grinnell in Henderson for 43 years retiring in 2007. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener. He loved his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Pugh; daughter, Jamie (Tommy) Hardin, of Henderson; brother, Thomas Pugh of Henderson; and two sisters, Mary (Glen) Smith, of Memphis and Scharlene (Tommy) Parrott, of Corinth, Miss.

REBECCA KINCHEN – Dec. 18, 2023

Rebecca Hanna Kinchen, of Henderson, passed away Dec. 18, 2023, at her son’s home.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Chaplain Brent Pearce officiating.
Burial followed at Milledgeville Cemetery.
The family received friends at Crook Avenue from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday.
She was born in McNairy County, the daughter of the late Jessie Dee and Lucille Benson Hanna. She attended Tri County School. She was married to L.B. ‘Dude’ Kinchen in 1955, and they made their home in Henderson. She started working at Salant & Salant Mfg. when she was 18 and worked at Schultz Mfg., Oakley Fashions at Scotts Hill and Chester County Sportswear. Mr. Kinchen died in 2009.
She is survived by two sons, Scotty (Denise) Kinchen of Henderson and Kevin Morris of Henderson; a daughter, Shelia Williams of Henderson: five grandchildren, Chris (Stephanie) Kinchen, Ashley Kinchen, Leslie (Paul) Mills, Luke (Amber) Williams and Alex Morris; seven great-grandchildren, Climer, Brody, Eli Kinchen, Savannah and Channing Williams, Rachel Mills and Blake Smith; and three sisters, Patsy Keen of Enville, Sue Sowell of Adamsville and Juliette ‘Sissy’ Stanford.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and four brothers, Ronnie Hanna, Junior Dee Hanna, Donnie Hanna and Edward Hanna.  

NELTA MORRISON – Nov. 27, 1941 – Dec. 7, 2023

Nelta Ann Dickson Morrison, 82, of Henderson passed away Dec. 7, 2023, at her home. Memorial services will be announced later.
She was born Nov. 27, 1941, at Morris Chapel, the daughter of the late James Guy and Essie Franks Dickson. She graduated from Morris Chapel High School in 1958. She played basketball in high school.
She moved to Memphis and was an office manager at an insurance company. She moved to Henderson and married Richard Morrison. She worked as a clerk and administrator at Lexington Hospital. Mr. Morrison preceded her in death in 2013. She was a very talented lady, enjoying playing the piano. She spent many of her adult years as a caregiver. She was a Christian in belief.
She is survived by a grandson, Ricky Morrison; step-grandchildren, Bryan Plunk, Brandon Plunk, Dustin Morrison, Dylan Morrison, Makayla Morrison and Taylor Morrison; and one step-great-grandchild, Myah Morrison Barner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a stepdaughter, Regina Carol Morrison; and one step-grandchild, Tyler Morrison.
