Peggy Sue DeBerry Duck, 81, of Medon passed away Monday, Aug. 22, 2022 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with Bro. Brad Patterson officiating.
Burial will follow at Middlefork Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue from 5-8 p.m. Thursday.
She was born Feb. 22, 1941 and reared in Chester County, the daughter of the late Mack Dewey and Martha Emma Siler Deberry. She attended Chester County High School where she was a cheerleader, graduating in 1959.
She married Jim Duck in 1959. She lived in Henderson, Jackson, Blytheville Arkansas, Luray, and most recently in Medon.
She traveled a lot in her work and had been to Canada, Mexico, Portugal, Germany, Switzerland, Hawaii 18 times, London, and England, which were some of the most interesting and beautiful places she had been. She also had been on several cruises.
She was also in the Guinness Book of World Records for having identical triplet boys born within two minutes.
She is survived by her husband, James Elmer ‘Jim’ Duck of Medon; two sons, James Michael (Debbie) Duck of Jackson and Carmon Scott (Lara) Duck of Medon; daughter, Kimberly Sue (Robert) Mitchell of Luray; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Christopher Lynn Duck and Bradley Joe Duck; three brothers, Kenneth DeBerry, Parvin DeBerry and Edmond DeBerry; a sister, Mary Redmon; and three grandchildren, Aubrey Mitchell, Andrew Duck and Cameron Duck.
