PERRY HEARN Obituary – FEB. 6, 1948 – Aug. 16, 2021

Perry Marvin Hearn, 73, of Henderson passed away Aug. 16, 2021 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services are incomplete at this time with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Henderson.
He was born Feb. 6, 1948 in Henderson and grew up in Henderson, the son of the late John Marvin “Jim” Hearn, Jr. and Maxine Dale Cox Hearn. He graduated from Chester County High School in 1966.
He had a full career in Law Enforcement. He began working with the Bellaire Police Department in Bellaire, Texas, and worked there 20 years. He moved to Henderson where he worked for the Jackson Police Department and helped to originate the SWAT Team. He graduated from the FBI National Academy Dec. 13, 1985. He became Chief of Police for the City of Henderson in March 1983, and retired in May of 1993.
After retirement, he worked for Essary Farms at Milledgeville. He enjoyed fishing and shooting pistol competitions in Henderson and Bellaire. He was a member of the Henderson Masonic Lodge and was a member of the Faith Fellowship Church.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Kay Casteel Hearn of Henderson; two daughters, Tina Burkeens of Henderson and Jennifer Hearn of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren; and a half brother, Jerry Marsh of Livingston, Texas.
