Once again, this year, Quinco Community Mental Health Center will award scholarships to eligible students in the five counties of our service area. Quinco is awarding a $1,000 one-time scholarship in each of its original service area’s five counties.
The selection of students for the scholarship will be before graduation. The members of the governing board of Quinco will review the applications and select the recipients of the scholarships. The scholarship presentation will take place at graduation services or Awards Day ceremonies. Quinco will make payment of the scholarship directly to the accredited college or university chosen by the student upon the student’s admission. The $1,000 scholarship will be a one-time award.
Any high school senior living in Chester, Decatur, Hardeman, Hardin, or McNairy County, who also attends a high school in one of the above counties, and who meets the eligibility criteria may apply for this scholarship.
To be eligible, the student must (1) be a senior expecting to graduate in the current year; (2) meet residence requirements as stated above; (3) have a grade point average of 2.5 or above; (4) plan to pursue a course of study in one of the following fields: psychology, medicine, nursing, social work, sociology, counseling, or another health-related field; and (5) complete a declaration of interest application. This application must be postmarked by March 15, 2024.
Applications will be available from the guidance counselor at each high school. To be considered, each application must have a representative reference form attached.
Contact Mark Barber, Director of Operations, at 731-203-1005 if you have any questions about the scholarship program.
