RANDY MOUNT Obituary – Sept. 19, 1948 – Dec. 31, 2020

James Randall “Randy” Mount, 72, of Henderson passed away Dec. 31, 2020 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, at Shackelford Funeral directors – Crook Avenue with Roy Sharp, Billy Smith and Tyler Butler speaking. Burial followed in Chester County Memory Gardens. The family received friends at Crook Avenue from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday.
He was born Sept. 19, 1948 in Henderson, the son of the late James Kirk Mount and the late Mattie Sue Hodges Mount Segerson. His father died overseas in France during World War II. Mattie Sue later married DeWayne Segerson, who raised him. He was a 1966 graduate of Chester County High School. He went to work for South Central Bell and retired in 2010, from now ATT, after 44 years as a cable splicer.
He married Janice Kee on Aug. 26, 1994.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed hunting with Kathy and his grandson, Tyler, and watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He spent much of his retirement time with his granddaughter, Brooklyn, taking her to various events.
He enjoyed photography especially wild flowers and sunsets. He also enjoyed watching westerns.
He was member of the Henderson Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Florine Kee Mount of Henderson; a daughter, Kathy (Jason) Butler of Henderson; one stepson, Alvin Warren (Nena) Moss, Jr. of Bolivar; three grandchildren, Tyler Butler, Brooklyn Butler and Tiffanie Moss; three brothers, Mark Segerson, Harold Wayne Segerson and Timothy Segerson, all of Henderson; and two sisters, Sara Lou Vansandt of Corinth, Miss., and Katie (H.A.) Beasley of Murfreesboro.
