Roy Carter Obituary – Nov. 1, 1943 – Dec. 17, 2022

Roy Wayne Carter, 79, of Huntington, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord and entered into his Heavenly reward, Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022.
Funeral service were conducted 1 p.m. Friday Dec. 23, at Beverly Hills Church of Christ Christian with Minister Dearl Hutchison officiating.
Burial was in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Visitation was after noon until service time on Friday at the church. Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington assisted the family.

He was born Nov. 1, 1943 in Henderson, a son of the late Roy Atkins and Louise Smith Carter. He was a graduate of Chester County High School and Kentucky Christian College. He was the pastor of Beverly Hills Church of Christ Christian in Huntington for 40 years and a member of KYOWVA for 30 years. He devoted his life to preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.
He was preceded in death was his beloved youngest daughter, Kristen Carter; his beloved wife of 50 years Janet G Carter; and a brother-in-law, Claude Brandow.
He is survived by his loving and devoted daughter, Dina (Michael) Miller of Huntington; three sisters, Janette (Larry) Stout of Tennessee, Josephine Brandow of Virginia and Blenda Morrison of Colorado; one brother, Larry (Joan) Franklin Carter of Tennessee; a sister-in-law, Helen Ashley of Kentucky; and a host of nieces and nephews.
