RUBE PATTERSON Obituary – May 31, 1953 – Jan. 7, 2021

Gary Rubin Patterson, 67, of Henderson passed away Jan. 7, 2021 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, at Shackelford Funeral directors – Crook Avenue with Bro. Clint Burkhead officiating. Burial followed in Cave Springs Cemetery. The family received friends at Crook Avenue from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday.
He was born May 31, 1953 in the Montezuma Community of Chester County, son of Rubin Simms and Ethel Miller Patterson. He attended Chester County Schools. He married Elaine Kilzer in 1978. He started to work for ITT Grinnell in 1978, as a crane and forklift operator, retiring in 2013.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, raising goats and sheep and loved being outdoors. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He enjoyed friends and having a good laugh. Go Braves!
He was a member of the Luray Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Kilzer Patterson of Henderson; three sons, Garry (Jenny) Patterson of Henderson, Josh (Kristin) Patterson of Henderson and Christopher Patterson of Henderson; four grandchildren; two brothers, Larry David (Ann) Patterson of Henderson and Jeff Patterson of Henderson; two sisters, Patsy (Robert) Urban of Blue Springs, Mo., and  Linda (Joe) Toy of Jackson.
