Shelby Jones Henson, 80, departed this life on Jan. 31, 2022 in Memphis.
Funeral services were 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, at Bartlett United Methodist Church, 5676 Stage Road, Bartlett, TN with visitation beginning at 4 p.m. Monday at the church.
There was a visitation at Shackelford Funeral Directors, 304 Crook Avenue, Henderson, TN on Tuesday, Feb. 8, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. followed by a graveside committal at 1:30 p.m. at New Friendship Cemetery in Chester County.
Memorial donations to honor his life may be sent to Bartlett United Methodist Church, Bartlett, or New Friendship Baptist Church, Henderson.
He was born Aug. 23, 1941 in the Woodville Community of Chester County, the son of Paul Jones Henson and Bufie Ellen Rowland Henson. He graduated from Chester County High School in 1960.
He was united in marriage to Sarah Bonice Peddy on June 27, 1964 at Pinson. They moved to Memphis and lived in the Memphis/Bartlett area for 57 years. He was an active member of Bartlett United Methodist Church.
He was a farmer, worked at Quality Manufacturing Company in Henderson and was employed by Dupont/ICI in Memphis for 35 years. He enjoyed deer hunting on the family farm and pheasant hunting in South Dakota.
He is survived by his wife, Bonice; three daughters, Sonia (Mike) Jenkins of Van Buren, Ark., Carrie (Bobby) Zinser of Memphis and Alisa (Troy) Harber of Bartlett; six grandchildren, Trey (Corrie) Jenkins, Katie (Dhrub) Jenkins Das, Jessica Jenkins and Callista Jenkins of Van Buren, Ark., and Brylee Harber and Alaina Harber of Bartlett; and one brother, Emerson Henson (Dianne) of Bethel Springs. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Bufie Henson; brother, Gaston Henson; and niece, Paige Henson Argus.
