SHIRLEY FRANKS KELLEY Obituary – May 27, 1940 – Jan. 26, 2020

Shirley Franks Kelley, 79 years and 8 months, departed this life on Jan. 26, 2020 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Jan. 29 at  Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Bro. Richard Doyle officiating.
Burial followed in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery  at Hardin County. Memorial donations may be made to the Jimmy Swaggart Ministries Bible Fund.
She was born May 27, 1940 in Flatwoods to the late Jimmy and Lessie Holt Franks, the oldest daughter of five children.
She was united in marriage to David Kelley on Oct. 5, 1973.
She worked in the garment and manufacturing industry around the Clifton and Waynesboro areas for several years and was a faithful Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church, Clifton.
In 1989 she and David moved to Selmer and opened Bale Fashions. A few years later, they opened a second store in Henderson, which was her passion and vocation until the day of her home-going.  She was an accomplished seamstress and gardener and never backed up from hard work. She was loved by all who knew her and especially enjoyed visiting with the many friends and customers who would drop by her store.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Larry David Kelley; one daughter, Pam Riley of Nashville; two sons, Mike (Sherry) Riley of Waverly and Jeff (Amy) Kelley of Stantonville; four grandchildren, Tiffany (Patrick) Brown, Hunter Riley, Lydia Kelley and Luke Kelley; three great-grandchildren, Ian, Elijah and Jason Brown; one brother, William Franks; one sister, Dexter (Jerry) Webster both of Flatwoods; special niece and family  Kim (Roger) Olinde, Blaise and Gracie of Brandon, Miss.; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, EJ Franks and Gene Franks.
