Annie Grace (McEarl) Moody, 88, of Sweet Lips, passed away Saturday morning, May 17, 2025, at her son’s residence.
Graveside services were 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Old Friendship Cemetery with grandsons Nicholas Moody and Michael Moody officiating. The family received friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday. The family would like to thank Legacy Hospice for their caring and compassionate work.
She was born Aug. 12, 1936, in Chester County. As one of nine children, she lived and was raised in the Sweet Lips Community.
She was Baptist in belief. She worked for 21 years in nursing home facilities and was a caretaker in people’s homes for a number of years. She was the family historian and loved gardening, reading and decorating for Christmas. In her later years, she enjoyed putting jigsaw puzzles together. Most of all, she loved spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by a son, Terry Randall Moody of Henderson; two grandsons Nicholas (Lauren) Moody and Michael Moody all of Henderson; one great-grandson, Samuel Moody of Henderson; three brothers, Charles (Virginia) McEarl of Henderson, Roger McEarl of Lexington and Bobby (Sarah) McEarl of Henderson; three sisters, Dorothy (Bob) Anderson of Lexington, Norma (Rick) McPeake of Lexington and Mitzi (Nickey) Crouse of Henderson; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J. W. and Monty (Naylor) McEarl; sisters, Johnnie Mae (McEarl) Russell and Patsy (McEarl) Collins; and a daughter-in-law Deborah (Hearn) Moody.
