County finds warmth of family and fun during icy days

Posted

Chester County was covered by a blanket of snow and ice with the arrival of Winter Storm Fern over the weekend, leaving much of the county with downed trees and power outages. As local services worked to restore power, local residents turned to winter activities such as playing outside, drinking hot cocoa and spending time with family and friends. Below are just a few of the photos we received of your favorite snow day activities. In addition to the photos, Kimberly Johnson shared that she was staying indoors, watching the snow and her grandbaby. Amanda South sent a picture of one of her outside cats enjoying the warmth of a wood stove. James Ferguson also said he was staying indoors, and Evelyn Blizzard was enjoying looking at the pictures of others enjoying the frozen outdoors. Kelsey Clayton sent a picture of her husband clearing their neighbor’s driveway. Amber Parrish Murley said her father is staying with them and brought bananas which were used by her daughter Bailey to bake banana nut bread.
There was not enough space in this week’s paper to print even half of our favorites, so we have included them all online at chestercountyindependent.com
