Freed-Hardeman University proudly accepts the Tennessee HOPE Scholarship, a prestigious state scholarship that brings incredible value to a college journey. Tennessee high school seniors, with a minimum of 21 on the ACT or 1060 on the SAT (critical reading and math only) or an overall weighted 3.0 GPA, are eligible to earn a HOPE scholarship. The student must be a resident for at least one year and a graduate from an eligible high school or homeschool in the state, which may include bordering counties in adjacent states.
Transfer students from a Tennessee public college, university or private college will be able to access this scholarship opportunity at Freed-Hardeman University. FHU freshmen and sophomores will receive $4,500 while juniors and seniors will receive $5,700 annually. The student must reapply annually by completing the FAFSA, remain enrolled at an eligible postsecondary institution in the fall and spring semesters and maintain academic progress.
FHU’s partnership with the Tennessee HOPE Scholarship program is one of many opportunities the school utilizes to make higher education more accessible. Freed-Hardeman’s advisors are available to assist students through the application process.
With the Tennessee HOPE Scholarship, FHU students are rewarded for academic excellence and receive access to higher education where they learn how to live and how to make a living.
The mission of Freed-Hardeman University is to help students develop their God-given talents for His glory by empowering them with an education that integrates Christian faith, scholarship and service. With locations in Henderson and Memphis, FHU offers associates, bachelor’s, master’s, specialist and doctoral degrees. Additional information about FHU and the HOPE Scholarship, as well as application details, is available at fhu.edu.

Tennessee students can receive $4,500 to $5,700 to attend FHU through the HOPE Scholarship.
