Terry Ray Ross, 84, of Henderson passed away Saturday afternoon, Sept. 19, 2020 at Northbrooke Health Care in Jackson.
Funeral services were 1 p.m. Tuesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Bro. Sammy McAdams officiating.
Burial followed at Unity Cemetery. The family received friends at the East Main Chapel from 5-9 p.m. Monday.
Masonic services were conducted at 8 p.m. Monday.
He was born in Henderson County and grew up at Sardis, the son of the late Ray Travis and Freeder Jewel Johnson Ross. He married Lila Sue Nobles, and they made their home at Jacks Creek. She preceded in death in 1978. He married Doris Bailey in 1979. He worked for Tennessee Liquefy, which became TexGas, and then Suburban Propane in servicing and later delivering propane, retiring after 41 years.
He was a member of the Henderson Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. He was a 32nd degree Mason and had served as Master of the Lodge.
He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Chuck where he had served as a deacon and song leader. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Bailey Ross; three sons; Danny Ray (Shirley) Ross of Jacks Creek, Damon (Tina) Ross and James (Pat) Bright, all of Henderson; a daughter, Ann (Paul) Schilling of Jacks Creek; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Frankie Ross of Henderson; and two sisters, Vicki Dickson of Reagan and Patsy Patton of Adamsville.
