TERRY SUTHERLAND Obituary – AUG. 16, 1958 – OCT. 14, 2021

Terry Lyn Sutherland, 63, of Jackson passed away Oct. 14, 2021 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Roland Gill officiating. Burial followed in Henderson City Cemetery. The family received friends at Crook Avenue from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Monday.
He was born Aug. 16, 1958 in Martin. He grew up in Elmhurst, Ill., and graduated from York High School in Elmhurst. The family moved to Dresden in 1976. He had always worked in the Parts Business. He married Susan Jett in 2014. They made their home in Jackson. His passion was junking for antique treasures. He was an original ‘Picker.’ He enjoyed Disney World trips. He was a lifelong Cubs Fan.
He and Wynema raised his daughters, Carrie and Lindsey in Martin.
His junking buddies for over 30 years were Bill Mitchell of Henderson and David Tuck of Martin.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Jett Sutherland of Jackson; two daughters, Carrie Sutherland of Martin and Lindsey (Peter) Sutherland Michel of St. Louis, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Jennifer (John) Hopkins of Henderson and Malarie (Wes) Alexander of Jackson; three grandchildren, McKinley Hopkins, Cason Hopkins and Mirabel Alexander; his mother, Katie Lou (Bob) Williams Wheat; and a brother, Gary (Brenda) Sutherland of Mt. Juliet.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lowell Dean Sutherland.
