TRENT RHODES Obituary – Sept. 1, 1954 – Jan. 28, 2020

Trent Smith Rhodes, 65, of Henderson passed away Tuesday morning, Jan. 28, 2020 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Billy Smith, Ben Flatt and Roy Sharp officiating.
Burial followed at Henderson City Cemetery. The family received friends at Crook Avenue from 5-8 p.m. on Friday.
He was born Sept. 1, 1954 in Jackson, the son of Lois Nelia Smith Rhodes and the late Theo Norman Rhodes. He grew up in Chester County and graduated from Chester County High School in 1972.
After graduation he began working for Sonoco in Henderson for 15 years, worked for Maytag in Jackson for about five years and later worked for Lowes as a tool specialist for a number of years before retiring due to health reasons. He especially enjoyed the interaction with customers.
He loved racing, especially NASCAR and drag racing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to see his grandson, Joey, skeet shoot. He coached his kid’s softball and baseball teams, always insisting they give 110 percent. He was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ.   
He is survived by his mother, Lois Nelia Smith Rhodes of Henderson; a son, Norman Trent (Kasey) Rhodes of Humboldt; one daughter, Kelly Rhodes Cooper of Henderson; two grandchildren, Joey Russell and Kameron Cooper with one on the way, Nash Rhodes; a great-grandchild, Easton Russell; and one sister, Teresa (Mike) Bain of Alabama.   
He was preceded in death by his father, Theo Norman Rhodes.
