VIRGINIA ‘JENNY’ COX Obituary – Oct. 10, 1935 – Nov. 13, 2020

Virginia Pearl Ligon Cox, 85, of Henderson passed away Nov. 13, 2020 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral Services were 11 a.m. Monday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Wade Cox and Bro. Stan Smith officiating.
Burial followed in Bethel Cemetery.
The family received friends at Crook Avenue from 5-9 p.m. on Sunday. 
She was born Oct. 10, 1935 in Chester County in the Chickasaw Community, the daughter of the late Robert Edward Lee Ligon and Mozella Ann Newman Ligon Malone.
She graduated from Chester County High School and West Tennessee Business School.
She married Ural Haskle Cox on July 8, 1956. They made their home on Sand Avenue. Mr. Cox worked his career with Southwest Electric, and she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and truly an angel here on earth.
She loved her family and working in her flowers. She always saw the best in everybody.  
She is survived by her husband, Haskle Cox; two daughters, Connie (Tommy) Austin and Kim (Darin) Barton, all of Henderson; five grandchildren, Tracie Terry, Blair Austin, Brett Austin, Bradley Barton and John Barton; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert E. Ligon of Columbus, Ga.; and one daughter-in-law, Cheryl Cox.  
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Terry Cox on Dec. 19, 2019; and three sisters, Ann Dodd, Dorothy Cupples and Betty Sheffield.
