Jacks Creek Elementary has enjoyed seeing all the smiling faces coming back into the building this year. We welcome all our families new to our school. We hope that our families have had a sweet summer.
This week’s beekeepers are Luke Verduzco and Emmett Buckley. Luke Verduzco’s favorite food is candy. His favorite book is “The Gruffalo,” and his birthday is Sept. 23. Emmett Buckley’s favorite food is chicken. His favorite books are “monster books, and his birthday is Nov. 1.
In kindergarten we are learning our rules and procedures. We learned the color red and read stories about following rules and making friends!
Our boys and girls have been working hard settling into first grade. They are enjoying getting to know their classmates and their new teachers. The boys and girls are also reviewing letters of the alphabet and practicing writing complete sentences. In math they are reviewing writing their number words and writing their numbers to 120.
In second grade we have enjoyed our first week of school! We have made new friends and had a great time getting to know each other better. We look forward to upcoming events and all the knowledge we will gain in second grade. Thank you to everyone for all the classroom donations and supplies.
In third grade we are reading the novel “Third Grade Angels.” In math we are working on rounding to the nearest 10 and 100. We are also learning addition properties. In social studies we are learning about different oceans, continents, the prime meridian and the equator.
