We are having a great week at Jacks Creek Elementary! We would like to thank all the people that helped make our Fall Festival great! It was lots of fun and was great for our school. Important dates to remember: 11/21-11/25 – Thanksgiving Break.
The Beekeepers of the Week are Addison Stoneman and Collin Essary. Addison’s favorite book is “Bad Kitty.” Her birthday is Aug. 30, and her favorite food is spaghetti. Collin’s favorite book is “Books about Chickens.” His birthday is Oct. 21, and his favorite food is pizza.
Kindergarten had a fantastic week. Students continued practicing letter sounds, writing and blending words to read, syllables, sight words, counting to 50, writing numbers, shapes and understanding addition. Thank you to everyone who contributed to our grade level project that was auctioned off at our Fall Festival. We hope everyone who was able to come had a great time, and we appreciate your support of our classroom and school.
We have had a fun and exciting week in first grade. We celebrated Halloween by dressing up and sharing candy with one another. We began reading fairytales such as “Cinderella” and “The Girl with the Red Slippers.” We will be comparing those two fairy tales soon. In skills we continued reading our Gran reader, reviewed nouns and learned a new tricky word. In math we reviewing for our topic test over word problems and will be testing next week. We also had our field trip to Donnell Century Farm in Jackson and had a blast!
We had a blast at the fall festival and enjoyed performing on the stage! Thank you to everyone that made it possible. We also would like to thank Mrs. Melinda Carroll for hosting a book fair. We are continuing to improve our reading and math skills in second grade. We hope to show you how much we have grown on our next district assessments.
Third grade students are learning all about the moon landing, exploring space and gravity. Our students have loved learning about the solar system and all the different components that make it so grand. In math we are wrapping up two-step word problems. We will begin learning about patterns to help solve multiplication and addition problems. We would like to thank all the parents/guardians that donate to our Fall Festival basket. We had a great Fall Festival and loved to see the kids perform their songs.
